Day 1
We left real eaaaaarly on Saturday. We arrived at 15:00 in Tux Austria. Unloaded the car and after a schnitzel and a warm shower of to bed. Really excited for day 2.



Day 2
First day at the park was awesome. Riding the mountain with my new gear. My new boards  are good,  fast and stable. First time training with Jorne and Martijn.
They are stern teachers.

Day 3

Blue bird again. Today training in the park. Martijn's directions pay off, my jumps have improved. We had a lot of fun today especially with Gulli Gudmundsson and Danny Larson.













Day 4
It was misty in Mayernhofen but on the slope it was blue bird again. Still excited riding the mountains. Can't get enough of it. Training was good. Learned new stuff. My new Flow board ride great. Today at filming I crashed with Martijn. Nothing serious just a little swelling on my arm for me and a sprained ankle for Martijn. After having eaten our home made sandwiches we hit the park again with Jorne.

Tomorrow is going to be another exciting day......

First day of competition at Dutch Championships (Laax)

Flow Youth Team Benelux at the Dutch National Championships 2012 in Laax. All riders stoked to perform at the slopestyle event.  The following riders joined the contest:

Joey van de Noort (Youth Men)
Ziggey van Bouwhorst (Rookie Men)
Jeremy Boshuizen (Junior Men)
Jazzley van Bouwhorst (Junior Men)

Unfortunatly Erik Bastiaansen couldn't join the contest due to a knee injury.

After the qualifications Ziggey, Jeremy and Joey made it to the finals. After a competitive final the results were rewarding.

As youngest rider in the category Junior Men, Jeremy did an excellent job with his 2nd place. This was his run: Back-nose op de box, backflip tailgrab, BS 360 Tailgrab, BS 360 Indy, FS 540 Tailgrab. (picture underneath)

Jazzley finished in 8th place in his categorie also being one of the youngest riders in this categorie.

Chicky Clinics 2012 Indoor

Last sunday Chicky Clinics did a clinic + Test in Zoetermeer on the Indoor slope and it was a great day of riding and testing. The chicky's where really pushing themselves and eachother to try new things and learn new tricks.

They where all very enthousiast and stoked on the new boards and bindings, all and all a great event with a lot of cool people stoked on Snowboarding!!!!!!!

Jordy and Joey Podiumfinishes!!!!

This weekend the Microns visited Warth Schrocken for another Chill and Destroy competition. And how!!! They did a great job and both made it to the Podium Joey came in 2nd and Jordy became 3rd!!! In the upto 12 years league. In the upto 16 they competed aswell and did awesome considiring their young age: Joey is 10 years old and became 5th and Jordy only just turned 9 and finished 7th!!!!

Job well done boys!!!!!! Great...Keep it up

Chill and Destroy!!!!!! Heubach

Chill and Destroy . That is what they do at the Flow Youth Team Benelux. 

Joey van de Noort (10 years old) represented the team this week at the tour stop Heubach (Germany) a  1 star TTR contest.  After a trip of 8 hours he and his parrents arrived  early in the morning. Joey unpacked his gear and started warming up.  After a few rounds Joey and his coach discussed the park and set out the runs for the qualifications. On the kink-box Joey did a backside nose,  on the up-box to butter-box also a back nose and on the first kicker a stylish and high backside 360 on the second kicker a front side 180. Which was more than enough to put him in the Finals.

In the finals he could repeat the same run smoothly, good for the first place till 12 years.
Joey was competing in two classes:  one, kids till 12 and the other, kids till 15. In the first class Joey became first and the second class he became fifth.
After a fulfilling day Joey packed up for a week training at Kaprun Austria.

Chill and Destroy Axamer Lizum......

As a part of the Chill and Destroy tour, today we have had the competition day in Axamer Lizum. The setup was not really big but nice in shape. Unfortunately Erik his knuckle landing from yesterday was not without concequences. He still had a really sore heel and after a few practice runs he had to decide that it would not be possible to compete. The two other riders , Jazzley and Ziggey, were rocking it! During the qualifiers they landed every trick on the kicker and rails.

They qualified for the finals where they showed their skills during the two final runs. In the former events Jazzley and Erik already won a ticket to the finals in Fellhorn by ending up in the first or second place. So it would be awsome if Ziggey could also join them there.

In his last run he really put in all his effort and confidence, and stomped all his tricks like a boss!

This run got him into the second place and won his ticket to the finals!!! Jazzley also managed really well and ended up in the 7th place.

We celebrated the great results of today in the sauna and Jacuzzi in the hotel. And tomorrow we are not going home, no, we have two more days coming. Hopefully with al lot of powder, bluebird, fun and new tricks.

Kids Killing it at Chill and Destroy

We have been riding two Chill and Destroy contests the last couple of weeks first in Ehrwald (Austria) and last weekend in Postwiese (Gemany). For the first contest in Ehrwald 3 of the team competed unfortunately Jeremy and Joey could not make it. When we arrived we had some fun building kickers in the area first. And jumping a little Chalet, fun fun fun. Next day the contest started we had some clean runs and the results where great Ziggey ended up in 5^th place Erik was 3^rd and Jazzley took the first win of 2012 for the Flow Micron Team. Great results combined with a great weekend in the snow: STOKED!!!

Last weekend we went too postwiese (Ger) for another Chill and Destroy contest. We arrived there with our entire team so Joey, Erik, Jazzley, Ziggey and Jeremy where all competing in this contest. First we had the chance to ride 2 runs and try qualifying for the final. We all went for it and took some risks, resulting in some mixed results and some crashes. But still 2 of us made it into the final, Erik and Jazzley, they both had 2 solid runs in the final. Both of them finished in the top 3 again only they switched places this time. So Jazzley came in 3^rd and Erik took another win for Flow. As you can see in the picture below Jazzley forgot to bring his board to the podium. Luckily Erik came in for first place to represent Flow on the Podium.

After riding 3 years on a lame noodle, I decided to cut one myself. I choose the Flow WX 163 2009/2010, because it is an aggressive board that loves speed and big drops. I first measured the exact halve of the board, cutted the edges on the nose and tail, then I clamped a wooden guide on it for my Jigsaw.

After cutting the board I sealed the wooden core with 5 layers of a boat varnish. Then I measured my stance, 58cm width and +3° on the back foot and +21° on the front foot, I then drilled all the insert for the voile kit and screwed it together. After that I filled up the holes of the board with a 2 component base repair stuff which I got from the local ski shop and then I put circles of base material over it. I am pretty stoked with the result, the connection is mega tight and the flex still feels great.
