Flow was here!

We had some beautiful days on the Tux Glacier, with a perfectly groomed park waiting for us . The kids were highly motivated and eager to learn. They rocked the park and proved to be worthy to the Glacier. Boundaries where broken and new tricks added to their arsenal.

Can't wait to ride again with these boys. Next time we'll ride fat back-country booters.

Thanks guys!

Ziggey in Zermatt

Hi.

Last week I went to Zermatt with the Dutch rookie team on a trainings week to train in the half pipe.
We had a great time there.
Only we couldn’t go up 2 days because it was to windy......
It was a pity. But the other days it was sunny so we could improve our half-pipe skills.

Greetings Ziggey.

Joey in the lift with Jeremy Thompson

Day three in the park. We left by car so we could start training earlier. The kickers are great. The first two days I only jumped the small kicker. Today the trainer (Bas Elhorst) said that I was ready for the medium kicker. After a little consideration I decided to go. I jumped and the kick was awesome the adrenalin was raging through my body. I am really stoked about my first jump on this huge kicker.
After overcome my fear I really enjoyed riding the medium kicker. I even did 180´s with grab.

After the jump on the medium kicker I was in the lift with Jeremy Thompson (pro flow rider). We talked somewhat over snowboarding. Cool!

I still haven’t been in the rail park, because the edges of my board are too sharp. Tomorrow I am going to ride my smaller rail board and hit the park hard. The past three days were fun, together with Erik and Jeremy we  have learned a lot from our trainer Bas. Today Jeremy jumped the big kicker (20m) and Erik did a 540 on the medium kicker.

Last but not least  Jordy 't Gilde is also here in Hintertux, riding with him is always fun.

Awesome day at Hintertux by Erik Bastiaansen

23rd of October 2011, the second training day for the Flow Youth Team Benelux.

Rise and shine at 6:45am. After a nice breakfast with bread, eggs and a cup of tea, we got dressed for today. Warming up on our way to the bus and after a ten minute ride we were up in the lift to the Hinterux Gletsjer.
The first exercise was carving, just to improve our riding technique; the trainer says that it's very important for riding a kicker.
We were stoked riding the park. First straight air’s and later on FS360’s, BS180’s, etc.
Hintertux is awesome, we saw some pro boarders in action like Torstein Horgmo and Jeremy Tomphson (Flow rider).
During training video’s and foto’s were taken for analysis later in the evening. Bas Elhorst commented on the video’s. I will try to work on his comments tomorrow.
After a day of hard work we were rewarded with a rest in the sun and a lovely meal (real Indian Curry).
Closing the day with a sauna and writing this report.

Erik Bastiaansen.

Tomorrow Joey's report.

23-10-2011
Today we took the bus to the slopes. Again it was a beautiful day. We saw a lot of pro-riders doing doubles under them were also a few "Flow-Riders".  We are spoiled with a great fun park every day. Everything is well shaped en we enjoy the kickers every day.
Every day we take lunch with us All the healthy sandwiches! Even Joey ate both his sandwiches. (He had promised his mom that he'll eat two sandwiches, and yes he did).
Erik Bastiaansen was rocking; he did some really hard tricks in the rail park.
I was doing some spins and back flips on the medium kickers.
Back at the apartment we did some condition training with our trainer Bas Elhorst. This is important because our trainer let us work very hard.
In the evening the moms had prepared a nice dinner, real Indian Curries with rice and naan bread.
After a tiring day we jumped into the sauna to relax and being prepared for a new wonderful day.

So again, good night all! And see you tomorrow!

22-10-2011
It is 06:45 in the morning, the sun is rising  and it is freezing cold. The moms made breakfast for us, they do this every day ;-) so we won't "die" hungry.
On our way to the lift we did our warming up. Some moments later we were at the slope with a beautiful sun and a full day of riding ahead. The kickers looked challenging and huge! So we started with the small kicker line and after lunch we did the medium sized kickers. We all did  our spins, what was going really well. So our day was awesome!

So again, good night all! See you tomorrow!

21-10-2011
Today we are going to Austria for a good training week. We are leaving today for a stay of five days.
At around eight in the morning we left to Hintertux. It will be a long trip...

A few hours (11) later...
It is now 19:00 in the evening and we have arrived. It was a long and tiring trip, but we are eager to get on the slope tomorrow morning. We hope that the jumps are big, and that the half pipe is shaped well, so we can practice for the competitions.

So, good night all! See you tomorrow!
