Bas Elhorst splitting his WX!!!!

After riding 3 years on a lame noodle, I decided to cut one myself. I choose the Flow WX 163 2009/2010, because it is an aggressive board that loves speed and big drops. I first measured the exact halve of the board, cutted the edges on the nose and tail, then I clamped a wooden guide on it for my Jigsaw.

After cutting the board I sealed the wooden core with 5 layers of a boat varnish. Then I measured my stance, 58cm width and +3° on the back foot and +21° on the front foot, I then drilled all the insert for the voile kit and screwed it together. After that I filled up the holes of the board with a 2 component base repair stuff which I got from the local ski shop and then I put circles of base material over it. I am pretty stoked with the result, the connection is mega tight and the flex still feels great.

I will keep you up to date about this.....

Rocco van Straten injured.......

Unfortunatly we have to mention that Rocco got injured this weekend. In practise he got injured due to landing on his back. This resulted in a Compression Fracture whatever that may be???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_fracture

His coach Milan Verhoop: "It is a annoying injurie, but not a really bat one, per se"

After he got injured he decided, never the less, that he had to compete in the Semi finals of the O'neill Evolution. He even managed to place himself in the best 16 after his first jump. What would have been good enough to make it into the finals. Unfortunately he crashed on his second jump, what resulted in him finishing in 20th place. So he missed the final.

Tomorrow he will be transported by ambulance from Davos back to Holland. Hopefully he will be able to recover fast and only skip the World Cup in Slovakia. And be back in competition in 6 weeks.

Rocco good luck with your recovery!!!!!
